A press conference will be held today at 1 pm at the Skagway South location as the Bosselman Companies announce plans for the future relocation of their Corporate Headquarters to the former Skagway building at 1607 South Locust Street in Grand Island.
The relocation will include a total overhaul of the former Skagway property into state of the art office space for the 100-plus administrative and executive personnel of the Bosselman Companies corporate headquarters.
"Our company was born in Grand Island, so we're very pleased to demonstrate our commitment to the community by being a part of the revitalization of the South Locust corridor," states CEO Charlie Bosselman. "Moving our Corporate Headquarters to this location is also a fantastic opportunity to be adjacent to our other community partners such as the Nebraska State Fair and Fonner Park/Heartland Events Center."
Renovation details are still being finalized, but in addition to office space, plans include a mini convenience store, meeting rooms, collaborative spaces, cafeteria, locker rooms, atrium, company history exhibits, a warehouse, and more. The renovation will also include environmentally responsible features, as well as an adjacent daycare and a fitness center. Other current retail spaces attached to the building will remain, including a liquor shop, mattress store, and financial services.
"It is thanks to our many customers, business partners and friends throughout the years that we continue to do business into the fourth generation of the Bosselman family, and we are excited to remain right here in Grand Island where it all started back in 1948," Bosselman comments. "What better way to carry on the many memories Grand Island residents have of another family-owned business like Skagway than by inhabiting that very building with our own family-owned business and carrying on another Grand Island tradition."
